How I Support

Maternal and Family Policy Advocacy

My journey to be an advocate for families began with my PhD in Family Science from the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland, where I focused on family policy analysis and the systemic intersections between policy and family life.

In both my clinical and educational work, I’ve seen firsthand how our current systems often fail new parents—especially mothers. The lack of paid leave, the high cost of childcare, and the relentless pressure to work long hours while commuting far distances all take a toll on maternal mental health, family well-being, and long-term stability.

My advocacy work is an extension of my deep belief that families deserve better. I co-facilitate the Maryland Chapter of the Chamber of Mothers, advocating for policies that support paid leave, maternal health, and affordable childcare. I also serve on the Board of Directors for Metro Marriage and Family Therapists, Inc., working to elevate the voice and reach of MFTs across Maryland.

If these issues matter to you, I would love to connect. Whether you’re looking for support, collaboration, or community, let’s talk. Together, we can build the kind of world our children deserve to grow up in.
